Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks the player's initial title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court since that period of 2023.
The win also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an better serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to force a third set.
He rescued 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
